What are the effects of sedation dentistry?
Sedation dentistry is achieved with a small pill that is ingested. The pill will relax you and make you drowsy, so be prepared with a driver that can take to and from the appointment. Oral sedation will mimic the feeling of sleep, however you will be able to answer any questions and respond to directions given by Dr. Marcarian. You will never be alone during your sedation visit. When your treatment is complete we will gently wake you and you will have little or no memory of your dental visit.
You should not feel anything during your visit because you will be in a deeply relaxed state. Although you may or may not be aware of your dental treatment, you will be responsive. You may stay in this relaxed state for 2-6 hours. Contact the office for more specific questions on how sedation dentistry will affect your body.
How do veneers work?
Porcelain veneers are extremely thin casings of ceramic that are bonded to the front of the tooth to create a new smile. Porcelain veneers are placed over the front of the teeth that appear too small or large, are slightly discolored, or are simply not cosmetically pleasing to the patient. Veneers help rejuvenate your smile and give you a “dental face lift” by providing you with a perfect smile.
How does ZOOM! Whitening differ from regular whitening?
ZOOM! Whitening treatments are quicker than the average whitening procedure. With ZOOM! The teeth are isolated in order to protect the gums and lips. Then the whitening gel is placed on the teeth. The gel is activated by a specially designed light that is directed at the teeth. The entire process takes just over an hour and the results usually come in as 6-10 shades whiter. Compared to regular whitening processes ZOOM! doesn’t leave the teeth as sensitive as a treatment.
